TY - JOUR PY - 2010 TI - The Iran Threat: Public Perception vs. Reality JF - Hinckley Journal of Politics; Vol 11 (2010) KW - Politics; Terrorism; Middle East; International Relations; Iran; United States N2 - According to nationwide survey, a majority of Americans feel that Iran is the chief threat to the interests of the United States and world stability. Rhetoric from both Iran and the United States reinforce this fear and have led to major foreign policy adjustments. Experts in missile technology and foreign policy, however, paint a less alarming view of an Iranian threat. The findings in this article demonstrate the stark differences between what weapons and foreign policy experts believe about an Iran threat, compared to what the public and political leaders think in the United States. This suggests that our foreign policy leaders may be misrepresenting the actual threat that Iran poses to the public. UR - https://epubs.utah.edu/index.php/HJP/article/view/309
