Bigger, Better, Bolder: Some Unconventional Thoughts on the Future of Journalism

Abstract

Martin Tolchin, a 2011 Hinckley Fellow, capped 40 years at The New York Times by founding The Hill newspaper and Politico. He is a senior scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Susan J. Tolchin is University Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University. Their latest book is Pinstripe Patronage: Political Favoritism from the Clubhouse to the White House and Beyond. This article expands their presentations at the October 2011 Siciliano Forum focusing on the future of journalism at the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah.
